Free concerts have just been announced around Australia this weekend as part of the Yes campaign for the 2023 Australian Indigenous Voice Referendum.
Melbourne/Naarm is getting the biggest concert of all this Sunday with Spiderbait, Midnight Oil frontman Peter Garrett, Mia Wray and Marlon Motlop.
The concert is tied in with the “Walk for Yes” rallies being scheduled by the Yes campaign around the nation over the weekend of 16 and 17 September. The “Walk for Yes” is being hailed as an opportunity for campaigners to “show the country just how positive and unifying this moment can be,” with people who are in support of the Yes vote being invited to come together to show their solidarity before the referendum.
Melbourne’s walk begins at the State Library at midday on Sunday, proceeding along Swanston Street to Federation Square.
Participants are encouraged to RSVP to the event so they can get updates.
Melbourning proudly supports the Voice to Parliament and will be voting Yes.
