Following its success in renowned locations such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, and Puerto Rico, the Princess Diana: Accredited Access Exhibition is coming to Melbourne. The exhibition, dedicated to the enduring legacy of the beloved Princess, is now set to captivate local audiences with an intimate exploration of her extraordinary life.
Curated by her Official Royal Photographer, Anwar Hussein, this exhibition transcends conventional presentations, offering a nuanced portrayal of Princess Diana’s personal narrative – from her initial introduction to Royal life to her subsequent redefinition of her public persona.
Structured into themed segments such as The Photography Dark Room, Growing, Glam, Hats & Tiaras, Art Installations, Humanitarian, and Unguarded, this exhibition presents not only a visual spectacle but a comprehensive storytelling experience.
Anwar Hussein’s original images, complemented by his insightful narration, provide a unique and profound perspective on the multifaceted life of Princess Diana. Bespoke art installations by distinguished multimedia artist Pauline Loctin enhance the artistic dimension of the exhibit.
The comprehensive audio guide, featuring firsthand accounts from Anwar Hussein and his sons, Samir and Zak, offers a privileged behind-the-scenes look at the stories behind each iconic photograph.
Endorsed by the Royal Family, this exhibition challenges conventions in royal photography, thanks to Anwar Hussein’s emphasis on capturing candid moments over formal portraits. Samir and Zak, now esteemed photographers in their own right, continue this legacy by documenting the lives of Prince William and Prince Harry.
The exhibition is on at The Tea House in Southbank from 17 November until 30 January.
