In celebration of people, place, culture, and music, the Brunswick Music Festival is back in 2024 for its 36th edition. From March 3 to March 11, the festival will dominate Brunswick, with Estonian House once again serving as the hub for premium performances.
The 2024 BMF program boasts an impressive lineup of talent, featuring more than 60 gigs spread across over 30 venues during the 9-day extravaganza. Brunswick’s top live music spots, bars, and hidden creative corners, including Jazzlab, Stay Gold, Howler, Brunswick Ballroom, and The Retreat, will be alive with music in its various forms.
Estonian House on Melville Road will once again host top-notch performances. Yothu Yindi will rock Brunswick on March 5, followed by Wednesday, a cool North Carolina five-piece, on March 6. On March 7, Zamibian Psych-rock band Witch will take the stage.
March 8 features Gamelan DanAnda’s family-friendly Balinese feast with Saudara Sound System, Komang, Joelistics, and more. March 9 brings “Highly Contagious,” a cutting-edge musical experience from Crown Ruler, Slow Clap, and Gut Health.
MJ Lenderman and The Wind will be at Howler on March 5, dishing out friendly alt-country vibes.
Coburg Town Hall will resonate with the Australian Art Orchestra’s exploration of sound, centered around its famous organ. The SHUFFLE-PLAY program promises a laid-back exploration of sound and space.
After making a successful comeback in 2023, the Sydney Road Street Party is back on Sunday, March 3. The event will bring a mix of performances, art, tasty food, and all-around entertainment to the shopping strip. Expect some surprises, like a harpist on a grassy knoll.
Blossom Rot Records, Bad Apples, Melbourne Electronic Sound Studios, MOM Gallery, and Neurotiq Erotiq have organized their own events. With 60+ shows in 30+ venues, this year’s lineup truly has something for everyone.
