After wowing audiences for thirty years in the West End, The Woman in Black is finally making its way to Australia! And the cast is nothing short of amazing, with John Waters (you know him from Doctor Doctor, Offspring, and Rake) and Daniel MacPherson (Land of Bad, Foundation, Neighbours) taking the lead. Get ready for a spine-tingling, thrilling ride through Susan Hill’s ghost story, brilliantly brought to life by Stephen Mallatratt’s stage adaptation.
The play is the tale of a lawyer convinced a curse is hanging over him and his family, thanks to the spooky Woman in Black. To shake off the fear, he ropes in a young, skeptical actor to help tell his bone-chilling story. It all starts innocently enough, but as they dig into his darkest memories, get ready for a wild ride through eerie marshes and moaning winds.
Robin Herford’s direction will create an atmosphere that’s both chilling and controlled horror. No wonder it’s dubbed “One of British theatre’s biggest – and scariest – hits” by The Guardian. Plus, it holds the title of Britain’s second longest-running play after The Mousetrap!
It’s on at the Athenaeum Theatre from 13 June. Tickets are on sale now. Don’t miss out on this creepy adventure!
