If you’re heading out into the city for one of the hundreds of shows that are on from 27 March to 21 April as part of the 2024 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, there are always lots of amazing places to eat before or afterwards. We’ve rounded up a list of 10 places to try that have specials on for comedy festival participants.
1. Nomad, 187 Flinders Lane
Nomad will have you in and out within 60 minutes with their Comedy Festival Express menu for $75 per person. Available from 27 March to 21 April 2024.
2. Bossley Bar and Restaurant, 186 Exhibition Street
Bossley Bar and Restaurant has a Comedy Festival dining offer that includes a main, a side dish and a drink for $39 per person. You can take advantage of this offer before, after or in between shows. Simply present a valid Comedy Festival ticket to claim this deal.
3. Freyja, 477 Collins Street
Start your night at Freyja and enjoy a quick bite to eat with their pre-comedy menu before immersing yourself in the laughter. Prices are $65 per person for a main and dessert, or $85 per person for a stater, main and dessert. Seating times for this offer are between 5:30pm – 6:30pm for the duration of the Comedy Festival.
4. Allegro Restaurant, Westin Melbourne, 205 Collins Street
Pre-theatre menu where you can enjoy fresh ancient grain sourdough bread to start, followed by your choice of one main and one side dish. Includes a glass of house wine, beer, or soft drink for $69 per person, between 5 and 7pm.
5. P.J. O’Brien’s Irish Pub, 3 Southgate Avenue Southbank
Present your festival tickets to get a 20% discount, throughout the duration of the Comedy Festival.
6. The French Brasserie, 2 Malthouse Lane
$40 per person two course set menu with a champagne cocktail on arrival (5-7pm).
7. Cookie, Level 1 Curtain House, 252 Swanston Street
Comedy festival offer of pre-show dinner and drink for $35. Ticket holders can also purchase an Espresso Martini for $15.
8. Antara 128, 128 Exhibition Street
Try their signature Anchovy Twist and Antara Spritz for $24, or comedy express menu featuring 6 dishes for $65 – in and out in 60 minutes.
9. The George on Collins, Basement The Georges Building, 162-168 Collins Street
Enjoy a pre-show express comedy banquet at $65 per person, which includes a delicious array of entrees, mains and sides. For ticket holders only, available Tuesday to Saturday evenings.
10. Méjico Tequila Bar and Restaurant, 1 Pink Alley
Enjoy late-night margaritas and tacos until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays (10:30pm all other days). This special includes two tacos and beer or wine for $15, two tacos and a frozen margarita for $20, two tacos and a classic margarita $25.
