Moon Dog Craft Brewery’s hotly anticipated new Footscray venue – Moon Dog Wild West – is set to open its doors inside the former Franco Cozzo building today at 11:30am.
The venue was originally supposed to open two weeks ago, which had to be postponed. A second attempt to open last week had to be abruptly canceled at the last minute over a fire hydrant safety issue.
This is the iconic Melbourne brewer’s third outlet in the city, and will be their biggest yet. Moon Dog Wild West will span three levels and have the capacity for up to 800 patrons, making it twice the size od their Preston venue. The venue will also boast more than 100 beer taps.
Moon Dog Wild West aims to capture the essence of the Wild West with its country and western theme. On the ground floor, you can hop on a mechanical bucking bull for a thrill ride and enjoy the cozy saloon-style interiors. Inside, a live band plays honky-tonk music while guests can shoot pool and sip on Moon Dog craft beers.
Upstairs, the rooftop bar offers a scenic view dotted with cacti, where you can dine on Tex-Mex dishes and soak in the atmosphere.
The Moon Dog team are also set to open a fourth venue later this year at the Marvel Stadium concourse in Docklands.
