Guide Dogs Victoria are making big moves in the creative world by celebrating the artistic talents of individuals with low vision and blindness – holding an art exhibition titled ‘Our Vision Works’ showcasing art created by Guide Dogs clients that opens this Friday 10 May.
This free exhibition is being held to recognise the inspirational achievements of Guide Dogs Victoria clients. Our Vision Works will feature art from Claire Hogan, Madeleine Popper, Jack Fitz-Walter and Sarah Hocking.
Claire Hogan an artist involved in the exhibition, will also be a keynote speaker alongside Nicky Long, CEO of Guide Dogs Victoria. Claire is thrilled to talk to the importance art has had throughout her life, and excited to be able to showcase it to the public, with thanks to Guide Dogs Victoria.
Nicky Long says, “It’s a privilege to contribute to supporting the remarkable talents of these artists. Our mission is focused on empowering individuals with low vision and blindness to lead enriching lives and pursue their deepest passions, without limits. This is the first of many art and creative showcases planned for our new campus spaces”.
In addition to being surrounded by artwork created by Guide Dogs clients, there will also be a performance by a harpist, Annette Leishman, who is legally blind.
