Delve into the realms of geometry, math, and science intertwined with traditional pattern design when Hybycozo’s mesmerising installation Deep Thought takes centre stage in the Bunjil Place Plaza at Narre Warren this winter.
Experience Hybycozo’s larger-than-life geometric sculptures, brought to life through high level metal fabrication. Their extensive experience in creating spaces of peace and wonder will ensure the experience is world class.
The sculpture is the work of artists Yelena Filipchuk and Serge Beaulieu, who created it for the Burning Man Festival in 2015. It was named after Deep Thought – the supercomputer in Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy built to come up with the answer life, the universe, and everything.
Deep Thought, is a pagoda-like structure that takes the form of a triambic icosahedron. A what?! A complex 3D shape made of 60 gold laser cut steel filigree triangle panels that cast colorful light and shadow. Within Deep Thought, you will find yourself surrounded and completely immersed in interwoven patterns of geometry and light, a prime location for contemplation about life, the universe and everything.
The Bunjil Place installation will comprise of five pieces that will be on display for 28 days over June and July as part of the City of Casey 2024 Winter Arts Festival. For opening night, there will also be a range of festivities on offer including live music, roving entertainment and much more.
