After a whirlwind two years of screenings across the globe, and receiving recognition from prestigious film festivals like the Beyond Borders International Film Festival in 2023 and the recent WSXA Paris Film Festival, director Brayden Pope is wrapping up the worldwide festival tour of his short-form documentary: Gabriel Lynch: Where I’m Going Next.
Closing out this journey, Cinema Nova will host the final screening during the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival this July.
The documentary captures the journey of Melbourne singer-songwriter Gabriel Lynch, from his early days as a street busker to his quest for success in the music industry.
Despite facing countless setbacks and rejections in Australia, Gabriel discovered his niche touring South-East Asia. It was there that he decided to put down roots, establishing himself as a touring musician.
Tickets for the event, available from 1 June, promise an evening of celebration as Brayden Pope joins attendees for the final screening.
It’s a chance to reminisce about the film’s journey and raise a toast to its success alongside the filmmaker himself.
