To celebrate the opening of its brand new brick-and-mortar shop at Prahran Market, Melbourne icon the American Doughnut Kitchen will offer free doughnuts and free puppuccinos to the first 200 shoppers tomorrow – Saturday 6 July – from 9am.
The brand new Prahran Market store has been inspired by the original 1950s American Doughnut Kitchen van parked at the Queen Victoria Market that’s been serving up treats to generations of Melburnians.
The hot jam doughnuts at both the van and the new store have been made using the same recipe for more than 70 years.
American Doughnut Kitchen Managing Director Belinda Donaghey says she is thrilled to finally welcome shoppers to their first shop and will be available throughout the day to talk about her family’s 74-year doughnut legacy.
“We are incredibly excited to open our doors at Prahran Market and share our family’s beloved doughnuts with a new community. Tomorrow’s giveaway is our way of saying thank you for the warm welcome. We look forward to seeing everyone enjoy our classic treats and creating new memories with us,” says Belinda.
