Beloved Christmas romcom, The Holiday (2006) will be presented live in concert this festive season with the film’s legendary Hans Zimmer score played live-to-film by Southern Cross Symphony.
The in-concert experience will be held at MCEC on 14 December with a full orchestra and cinema size screen, offering a unique and immersive way to experience The Holiday which has become a cult Christmas viewing experience for many.
Directed by Nancy Meyers, The Holiday revolves around two women, Amanda Woods (played by Cameron Diaz) and Iris Simpkins (played by Kate Winslet), who decide to swap homes during the holiday season to escape their respective romantic troubles. Amanda, a successful businesswoman from Los Angeles, ends up in a quaint English cottage, while Iris, a journalist from Surrey, finds herself in a luxurious mansion in California.
During their stay, both women encounter new romantic interests. Amanda meets Graham (Jude Law), Iris’s charming brother, and Iris befriends Miles (Jack Black), a film composer. As they navigate their new environments and relationships, Amanda and Iris rediscover themselves and find love in unexpected places.
Tickets go on sale on 8 August.
