Opening this weekend, Radiant Pavilion is a contemporary jewellery and object biennial. From 14-22 September the event will bring together more than 100 local and international jewellery and object makers in 60 events across the Melbourne CBD and inner metro over nine days.

The biggest Biennial of its kind in the southern hemisphere, Radiant Pavilion provides the opportunity to experience the latest in contemporary jewellery from Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, the UK, and the US though events including exhibitions, artist talks, performances, urban interventions, panel discussions and open studios.

“This is our first in-person Biennial since 2019, and it’s really exciting to be able to offer so many ways to discover, engage and reconnect with some of the very best in contemporary jewellery and object making from Australia and internationally,” said Chloë Powell, Artistic Director, Radiant Pavilion.
“Melbourne is considered to be Australia’s creative and cultural capital, and Radiant Pavilion brings a focus to contemporary jewellery and object, which make an important contribution to that reputation,” she said.

Melbourne has a thriving hub of contemporary jewellery makers. With a rich tradition and comprehensive offering, it is home to a diverse and generous community of artists, galleries and studios.
Established in 2015, this is the fifth iteration of Radiant Pavilion and the first since the 2021 digital edition.

There are many ways to join and discover contemporary jewellery and objects – exhibitions, performances, open studios plus more. Discover some of the latest in what contemporary jewellery can be.
There are works exhibited in a custom-made vending machine; jewellery and objects made beautiful from found and recycled materials, including those from city streets, the beach, op shops, scrap metal merchants and the rural landscape.
