Demand for e-bikes is rising in Melbourne due to their eco-friendliness, affordability, and convenience. To leverage this, Lime isd Lime is offering locals a new way to ride at a discounted rate with the launch of its LimePass.
For just $5.99 a day—less than the cost of a daily coffee—riders can enjoy discounted ride minutes and unlimited free unlocks, making urban commuting more affordable and convenient.
E-bikes offer a cost-effective, congestion-free alternative to cars and public transport, while promoting health benefits. Post-pandemic shifts toward personal transport and flexible commuting options have also fueled their growing popularity in the city.
Lara Nickless, Lime’s Melbourne Operations Manager, expressed her excitement about launching the new version of LimePass and continuing to provide green, affordable, and accessible e-bike transportation to Melburnians, especially after the removal of e-scooters from the City of Melbourne.
“Scooters may have left the city but Lime’s in-house designed e-bike is here to stay. Our reduced LimePass pricing makes for an affordable transport option for commuters, visitors and Melburnians who rely on Lime to get around,” Lara said.
E-bikes are available for rides from North Melbourne to South Yarra and down to Elwood. With perks like eliminating bike storage concerns and providing an economical, eco-friendly transport option, Lime is here for Melburnians.
Footy fans can also take advantage of LimePass during the AFL Grand Final, with seven designated parking spots around Yarra Park and additional parking wardens ensuring smooth travel.
With multiple pass options, LimePass offers riders flexibility while supporting Lime’s goal of affordable, carbon-free transportation. Options range from a one-day pass at $5.99 to a 30-day pass at $52.99.
