One of Melbourne’s most in-demand florists, Victoria Whitelaw Beautiful Flowers, is bringing its much-loved School of Flowers to the industry-only National Flower Centre this October.
Hosted by award-winning floristry designer Victoria Whitelaw, the Melbourne-first workshops will take place every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 7 November 2024.
The unique experience will begin with a behind-the-scenes guided tour of the National Flower Centre at Melbourne Market in Epping, where Victoria handpicks fresh blooms for her stores. Victoria will then showcase her expertise in a captivating floral demonstration while attendees enjoy a delicious breakfast box.

Under her guidance, attendees will have the opportunity to create their own floral masterpiece to take home, drawing on Victoria’s 35 years’ experience. To finish, there will be a rare opportunity to buy flowers at wholesale prices at the National Flower Centre, which is not open to the public.
With more than 60 growers and wholesalers, the National Flower Centre supplies fresh flowers to more than 700 florists around Victoria – providing a unique and immersive experience for flower enthusiasts and aspiring florists alike.
Victoria Whitelaw says she is excited to offer this unique opportunity for individuals to learn the art of floral design in an authentic setting.
“Visiting the market is one of the highlights of my week, and I’m excited to share the gift of nature through this exclusive experience,” she says.
“Whether you are a budding floral enthusiast looking to enhance your home décor or aspiring to venture into the floristry industry, our workshops provide a great chance to learn something new.”
Limited to 16 participants per session, the workshops aim to equip attendees with expert techniques and the skills to create professional floral designs using stunning botanicals fresh from the farm.
With an emphasis on creativity and hands-on learning, the Victoria Whitelaw School of Flowers promises to provide an enriching experience for all participants. By offering a firsthand look at the flower selection process and the opportunity to learn from one of Melbourne’s most in-demand florists, these bi-weekly classes serve as the perfect platform for developing skills and igniting passion for floral design.
