More visitors to Wilsons Promontory National Park will have the chance to encounter Australia’s iconic wildlife in their natural surroundings, thanks to an ongoing upgrade of the beloved Prom Wildlife Walk.
This revitalisation is part of a $23 million project that includes resurfacing the 2km trail to improve accessibility for visitors with limited mobility.
Regular sightings of emus, kangaroos, wallabies, and wombats make this walk a favourite, and new interpretive signage will be added to enrich visitors’ understanding of the wildlife they encounter.
The upgrade aims to enhance the experience for everyone, allowing more people to appreciate Wilsons Promontory’s remarkable natural and cultural heritage.
Wilsons Promontory, often called “The Prom,” is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking breathtaking natural beauty, diverse wildlife, and a sense of adventure.
Located at the southernmost tip of mainland Australia, this national park offers some of Victoria’s most stunning landscapes, from pristine beaches and granite mountains to lush rainforests.
The Prom Wildlife Walk is expected to reopen on Friday, December 6, pending weather conditions, after approximately four weeks of construction
