The inaugural Roar Fest will be held in St Kilda on 8-9 March presented by rackeTT Collective. Timed to coincide with International Women’s Day, this groundbreaking event celebrates women in Australian music, fostering creativity, connection, and representation both on and off stage.
Roar Fest promises more than just a festival; it’s a movement amplifying voices through music, art, and meaningful collaborations. With ambassadors Kate Ceberano, Tania Doko (Bachelor Girl), and Ella Hooper (Killing Heidi), the festival aims to inspire both established and emerging artists.
Highlights include the Women On The Bay concert on 8 March at George Lane, featuring artists like Kathleen Halloran and Charlie Needs Braces. On 9 March, a headline show at the National Theatre will showcase performances by Ceberano, Doko, Gabriella Cilmi, WILSN, and Gypsy Lee, hosted by Ella Hooper.
Complementing these performances are In Conversation panels, a Women in Music Photo Exhibition, and a St Kilda Women in Music walking tour. Tickets are on sale now for these limited-capacity events.
On Instagram, Ceberano shared: “It has always been my intention as an artist, to carve a path for other women to walk.”
“This festival is a way for women in music to share our songs, discuss the work behind the music, share wisdom and stories of touring and performing. On the bill are friends, family and musicians who I admire and love,” she said.
The full two-day Roar Fest program will be released in early 2025. Visit www.roarfest.com.au for more information and register here to be the first to receive Festival program updates and on-sale announcements.
