Merri-bek City Council has announced its iconic Brunswick Music Festival will back in full force in 2025, with nine days of music programming including the return of Gilpin Park gigs.
The always-incredible Sydney Road Street Party will kick off proceedings on Sunday 2 March followed by more than 40 gigs across nine days in Melbourne’s live music capital.
Two huge nights are scheduled amongst the trees of Gilpin Park. Dream team Miss Kaninna and Elsy Wameyo co-headline Friday 7 March, then hiphop royalty Bahamadia kicks out Saturday evening under the stars with Kaiit.
Bulleke-bek Journey also returns to the roster in 2025, bringing freelive music to a stack of venues across the suburb on Sunday 9 March.
For the first time, Brunswick Uniting Church will host unexpected one-off AT THE ALTAR OF US an intimate showcase of Queer talent featuring Ruby Gill, Porpoise Spit and Merpire.
Brunswick Ballroom will play host an intimate evening with USA Americana trio Bonny Light Horseman. Acclaimed Balinese gamelan orchestra Gamelan DanAnda will join forces with electro-jazz-fusion group Firetail, while Puerto Rico’s Pachyman is set to bring his dub-drenched dispatches to Howler.
Once again, there will be extra special programming going down at your favourite Brunswick venues including Jazz Lab, The Bergy Seltzer, Quad Club, Shell Space, Tempo Rubato, The Penny Black, Brunswick Mechanics Institute and Rubix.
“Brunswick Music Festival is one of Council’s flagship events that is so important to many in our vibrant, creative community” said Merri-bek City Council Mayor Helen Davidson.
“With a diverse program showcasing both local and international talent, the festival strengthens Brunswick’s reputation as a destination for live music, enriches our local community and attracts visitors. We are proud to be delivering Brunswick Music Festival for the 37th time in 2025 and encourage everyone to come along for 9 days of wonderful live music,” she said.
A second announcement, revealing additional programming, is scheduled for January 2025. Visit brunswickmusicfestival.com.au for more news and updates.
