Surfing’s next generation of stars will head to Phillip Island next year in the hope of booking their spot on the World Tour, with the state government securing an elite surfing competition at Phillip Island.
Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos and Member for Bass Jordan Crugnale revealed the Phillip Island Pro will run at Cape Woolamai from 17-22 March 2025.
The event will attract competitors from more than 10 countries in the Asia and Oceania region, all hoping to book a spot on the 2025 Challenger Series – which is the ultimate battleground for surfers vying to qualify for the Championship Tour in 2026.
The event will also include the 2025 Australia/Oceania Pro Junior series, with more than 100 of the region’s best 20-and-under talent competing in the Phillip Island Pro Junior during the same week.
