Families are in for a fun-filled start to the Australian Open 2025, with 5000 free Hot Shots racquets set to be handed out during Opening Week.
From 6-10 January thousands of kids will have the chance to grab their very own Hot Shots racquet and take their first step into the world of tennis.
As part of the Australian Open Opening Week celebrations, these racquets will be distributed to young fans at the Fan Stage on Grand Slam Oval, with two daily sessions.
“We want to make tennis a sport that every family can enjoy, and there’s no better way to do that than by giving kids the chance to take home their own Hot Shots racquet,” said Tennis Australia Chief Tennis Officer Tom Larner.
The refreshed Hot Shots program is designed to be more fun, engaging, and accessible for kids of all ages, featuring modified courts, kid-friendly equipment, and an emphasis on both play and life skills.
Top international and Australian tennis players will attend the daily sessions, providing fans with a rare opportunity to interact with some of the sport’s best talents.
With this initiative, Tennis Australia underscores its commitment to making tennis more accessible and inspiring the next generation of players. “By offering these 5000 racquets during Opening Week, we’re giving families even more value from their ticket, while also making tennis more accessible for the next generation,” Larner added.
Opening Week promises to bring fans closer to the sport, offering a packed program of exciting events. Tickets start from just $15 for adults and $10 for kids, making it an incredible value for fans. Whether you’re exploring the AO grounds or watching the world’s best players in action, there’s something for everyone.
