After nearly a decade of serving up authentic Thai cuisine from a unique car park location, Soi 38 is moving to a new spot in Melbourne’s CBD.
The beloved restaurant, known for its boat noodles and vibrant atmosphere, will relocate to 235 Bourke Street. This move is set to take place on 2 January 2025, providing the cult eatery with better cooking facilities and a larger seating capacity.
The new location will be just around the corner from its current spot, ensuring that loyal customers won’t have to travel far to enjoy their favourite dishes.
The new venue will feature an open kitchen, allowing diners to watch the chefs at work, and will have room for 300 patrons, a significant increase from the current 601. Despite the move, the restaurant will retain its colorful decor and popular menu items, including boat noodles, duck larb, and Thai barbecue.
Soi 38’s owners, Chavalit “Top” Piyaphanee and Phawinee “Tang” Suwankamnerd, are excited about the new space, which will allow them to expand their menu and offer more deep-fried dishes. The move is expected to enhance the dining experience, making it even more enjoyable for visitors1.
Whether you’re a long-time fan or a first-time visitor, the new Soi 38 promises to be a fantastic spot to enjoy delicious Thai food in a lively setting
