On Saturday, 22 February, visitors can dive into the NGV’s new Level 3 display featuring works from the mid-1980s to the 2010s by Gaultier, Margiela, and Galliano.
This curated collection highlights their groundbreaking influence on fashion and their interconnected legacies. The display will be paired with a curator discussion, offering insights into the artistry and innovation behind these iconic names.
On Saturday, 1 March, NGV curator Meg Slater will lead a thought-provoking conversation titled Kusama’s Fashion as Liberation: 1960s to Today.
This talk will explore the legendary artist’s radical designs from the 1960s and her visionary collaborations with brands like Issey Miyake and Louis Vuitton. The session will delve into fashion as a medium for liberation, bridging decades of creative rebellion and expression.
