Australian rock legends You Am I are set to celebrate two of their most iconic albums, Hi Fi Way and Hourly, Daily with a massive national tour.
The Hi Fi Daily Double Down Tour kicks off in Canberra on April 3rd, before heading to Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, and Newcastle throughout the month.
Melbourne fans will be able to catch them at The Forum on Friday 11 April.
Fans can expect a night of pure nostalgia as the band performs both albums in full, pairing their high-energy live show with a tribute to their 1990s classics.
In addition to the tour, You Am I have announced a 30th anniversary reissue of Hi Fi Way, originally released in February 1995. Produced by Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo, the album became a defining moment for the band, topping the Aussie charts, earning Gold certification, and winning Best Alternative Release at the ARIAs.
“31 years ago You Am I embarked on an amazing American adventure at the behest of their new friends Soundgarden,” the band said in a statement.
“At the end of the six week tour, and against everyone’s advice, the band decamped to New York to knock out a new record in three weeks. 30 years ago that record came out and astonished every one.”
“It was called Hi Fi Way and would go on to be a number one album without the hint of a hit or commercial radio airplay. It’s the sound of a band just doing what they do, no fuss and no fucking around. Fast forward to 2025 and You Am I is those same three dudes (plus one) and it’s time to celebrate.
“Timmy, Davey, Andy and Rusty are as pleased as punch to be bringing our twin album showcase the celebrated Hi Fi Daily Double back to a venue near you,” they added.
“The Hi Fi Daily Double Down is a reprise of the now legendary 2013 shows captured on Live Electrified but with new twists and turns to make it as fresh as the faces that opened for Soundgarden in 1994.”
With a legendary back catalogue and a reputation as one of Australia’s finest live acts, You Am I’s Hi Fi Daily Double Down Tour promises to be an unmissable celebration of two albums that helped shape Australian rock history.
Tickets go on sale from 9am on February 20th, with a 48-hour pre-sale beginning on February 18th.
