Cirque du Soleil’s beloved production, Corteo, is set to dazzle audiences in Australia for the very first time in 2025.
Touring in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide from August October 5, 2025, this magical show will bring its unique blend of acrobatics, theatre, and whimsy to Australian stages, offering a breathtaking experience that transcends the ordinary.
Melbourne audiences will be able to see it from 22-24 August at John Cain Arena.
Directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca (creator of LUZIA), Corteo—which means “cortege” in Italian—tells the story of a clown who imagines his own funeral as a joyous carnival, watched over by gentle angels.
The production juxtaposes the grand and the intimate, the tragic and the ridiculous, creating a poetic celebration of humanity’s strength, fragility, and kindness.
In a Cirque du Soleil first, the stage is centrally located, dividing the arena and allowing audiences to face each other, offering a unique perspective of both the show and fellow spectators.
The hand-painted curtains and Eiffel Tower-inspired set design add a touch of grandeur, perfectly complementing the show’s lyrical and playful music.
Since its premiere in 2005, Corteo has captivated more than 12 million spectators across 30 countries. Now, Australian audiences can finally experience this timeless celebration of life, illusion, and artistry.
