Music legend Tim Finn is set to make a triumphant return to Australia this August, celebrating 40 years of his groundbreaking debut solo album, Escapade.
In three exclusive shows, the New Zealand-born songwriter will perform the beloved record in full, along with other classics from his storied career, backed by an outstanding live band. Melbourne fans will be able to catch him at The Palais in St Kilda on Saturday 2 August 2025.
“I’m excited to be playing these songs again and looking forward to sharing the moment with audiences in some beautiful old venues,” Finn said in a statement.
Originally released in 1983, Escapade marked a bold departure from Split Enz, the influential band Finn co-founded in the early 1970s.
Though met with skepticism at first, the album became a massive success, producing hits like Fraction Too Much Friction, Made My Day, and Staring At The Embers. It also earned the prestigious 1983 Countdown ‘Album of the Year’ Award, cementing its place in pop history.
Following his acclaimed Lives & Times of Tim Finn tour in 2023 and standout festival appearances, Finn is keeping the momentum going.
While Escapade will take center stage, audiences can expect to hear gems from Split Enz, Crowded House, and his solo catalog, making this a must-see event for fans old and new.
Tickets go on sale on Thursday 20 February 2025.
