Frankston’s South Side Festival is back for its fourth year, running from 8 to 18 May 2025, and it’s bigger and bolder than ever. This vibrant celebration of art, performance, and community will transform Frankston into a hub of creativity, offering something for everyone—whether you’re an art enthusiast, a theatre lover, or just looking for a fun family outing.
“We’ve crafted a program that’s exciting, intriguing, and inspiring,” says Festival Producer Freyja Macfarlane. “From dazzling light installations to high-energy performances, there’s something to captivate all ages and interests,” she said.

Kicking off the festival is the return of Neon Fields (8–11 May), turning Beauty Park into a glowing wonderland with brand-new light installations, including a life-size neon grand piano and drum kit.
For the adventurous, the South Side Sea Soak (10 May) invites bold dippers to take an invigorating ocean plunge, followed by a beachside breakfast hosted by the Frankston Life Saving Club.
Dance lovers won’t want to miss momenta (10 May) by the Sydney Dance Company at the Frankston Arts Centre. Choreographed by Rafael Bonachela, this breathtaking performance celebrates individuality and unity through world-class movement and rhythm.

Circus fans are in for a treat with Circus Trick Tease, presenting two shows: CHEER (16–17 May), a high-energy circus-comedy fusion for adults, and Farmy Farm (17–18 May), a family-friendly extravaganza of acrobatics and laughs.
Other highlights include Joshua Searle: Oro Vivo, a large-scale projection celebrating Colombian heritage, Holiday in Frankston, a punk music night, and Lori Hakim: Undercurrent, an exhibition transforming beach waste into wearable art.
