A spectacular celebration of flowers in art, Floribunda, is set to bloom at Bunjil Place in Narre Warren, in collaboration with the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV).
Launching on Saturday 29 March, and running until Sunday 20 July, this captivating exhibition, curated by David Sequeira, offers an immersive exploration of floral imagery through a diverse selection of artworks exclusively from the NGV Collection.
To mark the occasion, Bunjil Place will host an exclusive Opening Night Gala on Friday, 28 March. Guests are invited to don their floral finest for an evening of art, music, and immersive experiences.
Highlights include Insta-worthy floral installations, live music performances, and the enchanting Piano Room—a serene, illuminated garden filled with curious sounds and virtuosic piano melodies.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to bring this stunning exhibition to Bunjil Place in collaboration with the National Gallery of Victoria,” said City of Casey Mayor Stefan Koomen.
“This partnership shines a spotlight on the incredible NGV collection, while also solidifying Bunjil Place as a must-visit destination for world-class art right here in Melbourne’s Southeast. Our floral Gala is going to be a truly unforgettable evening, celebrating the very best of arts and culture in our region,” he said.
The exhibition’s title, Floribunda, derived from the Latin for “many-flowering,” reflects the vibrant and abundant themes explored in the collection. Alongside the exhibition, a series of floral-inspired activities, workshops, and talks will take place across the city, including flower still life drawing, twilight lantern walks, and hands-on flower arranging workshops.
Entry to Floribunda is free, but tickets for the Opening Night Gala are limited. Don’t miss this blooming celebration of art and nature—book now and join the floral festivities! For more information, visit Floribunda Opening Night Gala | Bunjil Place.
