This autumn, the Brighton Town Hall Gardens will come alive with an explosion of colour, creativity, and community spirit at the Slow Art Pavilion from 19 March to 16 April 2025.
Nestled adjacent to Brighton Library, this unique outdoor installation by the Slow Art Collective invites visitors of all ages to immerse themselves in hands-on art practices, from weaving and macramé to experimenting with solar-powered musical instruments.
Constructed from recycled and repurposed materials, the bamboo and fabric pavilion is more than just a sculpture—it’s a living, evolving artwork that grows and transforms through public participation.

Each day, visitors can contribute to its development, making it a truly collaborative experience that reflects the Slow Art Collective’s ethos of environmental sustainability, material ethics, and DIY culture.
A series of workshops will be held on Saturdays and during the school holidays, offering families the perfect opportunity to get involved. Children and adults alike can try their hand at weaving, learn the art of macramé, or experiment with solar-powered soundscapes. These activities are designed to be immersive, imaginative, and, most importantly, fun.
