After more than five decades of electrifying audiences, Australian music icon Russell Morris has announced his farewell tour—a final celebration of his legendary career before stepping away from live performances.
“The Farewell Tour,” kicking off this August and September, will span eight dates across the country, featuring Morris’ powerhouse 13-piece band and all his greatest hits, including The Real Thing, Wings of an Eagle, and Sweet, Sweet Love. A two-time ARIA Hall of Famer with 15 albums and two #1 singles to his name, Morris leaves behind an unmatched legacy in Australian music.
Melbourne fans will be able to catch him at Hamer Hall on Wednesday 27 August 2025.

In a heartfelt statement, the singer-songwriter reflected on his journey—from smoky clubs to festival stages—and explained why now feels like the right time to bow out.
“For too many years to count, more than I care to admit, I’ve performed across every corner of Australia,” Morris said. “Since the ‘60s, I’ve poured my heart into this circuit, but after decades of constant motion, I started to feel a creeping sense of déjà vu.”
While leaving the door slightly ajar for future one-off performances, Morris made it clear this tour marks the end of an era. “This is my way of closing the loop—not the end of my music, but the end of the beginning,” he said. “A pivot, not a full stop.”
