The wait is over for punk fans across Australasia as iconic American band Dead Kennedys confirm their first tour of the region since 2018. This September, the legendary group will bring their explosive live show back to stages in Australia and New Zealand, delivering the same raw energy and political fury that made them punk royalty.
Melbourne fans will be able to catch them at the Northcote Theatre on Friday 19 September 2025.

Since forming in San Francisco in 1978, Dead Kennedys have built a reputation as one of punk’s most vital and confrontational acts. Their upcoming shows will feature classic tracks like Holiday in Cambodia, California Über Alles, and Kill the Poor alongside deeper cuts from their influential catalog.
The current lineup features founding members East Bay Ray on guitar and Klaus Flouride on bass, joined by vocalist Ron “Skip” Greer (who has fronted the band since 2008) and drummer Steve Wilson, who took over following the passing of longtime drummer D.H. Peligro in 2022.
What makes this tour particularly significant is how remarkably relevant Dead Kennedys’ music remains today. Their satirical lyrics tackling political corruption, social inequality, and corporate greed continue to resonate in our current climate, proving great punk rock is timeless.
For fans who have waited years to see them live, or for younger audiences discovering their music, these shows represent a rare opportunity to experience one of punk’s most important bands still operating at peak intensity.
