The 2024 Melbourne Writers Festival program has been launched and it promises to be an exciting week of exploring literature, happening from May 6 to May 12, 2024.
This year’s festival will boast a diverse program that’ll be great for book lovers and aspiring writer alike. Led by outgoing Artistic Director Michaela McGuire, it features famous authors and promising newcomers from all over the world.
The theme for this year is “Ghosts,” and the festival will cover various topics related to ghosts and haunting stories. Curators Mykaela Saunders and Ziggy Ramo have planned events that also look at the future and what it means to be human.
Some of the notable guests include Ann Patchett, Toshikazu Kawaguchi, and Paul Lynch, each bringing their own unique perspective to the festival. Patchett and Meg Mason will discuss their works, while Kawaguchi will talk about his novels and the upcoming TV adaptation. Lynch will share insights into his latest book, “Prophet Song.”
There are also other international guests like A. C. Grayling, Viet Thanh Nguyen, Bryan Washington, and Andrew O’Hagan, along with local writers like Ziggy Ramo, Bruce Pascoe, Lyn Harwood, and Rosie Batty.
