The Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula and Great Ocean Road chocolateries are gearing up to showcase 31 different varieties of rocky road this May, as part of their Rocky Road Festival.
They’re anticipating that 100,000 handmade rocky road blocks will be made over the month with ingredients like boozy soaked berries, brittle, popping candy, jellies, shortbread, caramel shards, pralines and freeze dried fruits added to the mix to create premium flavours, alongside rocky road staples marshmallow and chocolate.
There will be unique rocky road varieties on offer such as Golden Delicious Crumble, Citrus Flame, Biscoff Hedgehog and Th Rum Affair. There’s also a sparkly pink rocky road creation insured by Taylor Swift for the Swifties and a Kung Fu Panda creation for the kids.
Rock Around the Block Tasting sessions will be held on select days and times throughout the festival where you can sample a hot chocolate, an ice cream, eight of the one-off festival flavours and even make your own rocky road creation from 50 different ingredients.
Each chocolaterie will feature a mega-sized Pick and Mix counter which will boast every single rocky road flavour that’s part of the festival. You’ll be able to fill one metre long boxes with your favourite rocky road blocks to take home.
You’ll also be able to purchase an Ultimate Rocky Road Box with every one of the 31 varieties so you don’t miss out. There will also be festival treats to purchase online if you can’t get there in person.
The Rocky Road Festival will run from 1-31 May.
