After selling out 16 shows across Australia to celebrate their 50th anniversary, Cold Chisel have announced six new dates nationally to meet demand -including two at Sidney Myer Music Bowl in November.
The additional Melbourne dates for the “Big 5-0” tour will be on 22 and 23 November and supported by special guests Karen Lee Andrews and The Cruel Sea.
Tickets for the initial shows sold out within minutes. “The demand for tickets was bigger than anything we’ve ever seen before,” said frontman Jimmy Barnes.
Chisel’s sold-out Victorian dates include two shows under a specially constructed big top tent at Flemington Racecourse on 25 and 26 October, and at Ballarat’s Victoria Park on 9 November and at Mornington on 10 November – the latter dates as part of the Red Hot Summer Tour.
Tickets for the new shows will be available to the general public on Tuesday, 18 June at 1:00 PM AEST. However, fans subscribed to the Cold Chisel, Face-to-Face Touring, and ticketing company mailing lists will have exclusive access to a pre-sale starting Monday, 17 June at 1:00 PM AEST.
