After sell-out shows in 2022, legendary magicians Penn and Teller are returning to Melbourne in January 2025 with their brand new show on their 50th anniversary tour. They’ll be at Hamer Hall for six nights from 21-26 January 2025.
Penn and Teller are American magicians, entertainers, and scientific skeptics who have performed together since the late 1970s. They are known for their unique blend of comedy and magic, often incorporating elements of illusion, sleight of hand, and mind-bending tricks into their acts.
Penn Jillette, the taller and more vocal member, provides the comedic banter, while Teller, the shorter and silent partner, amazes audiences with his silent magic performances. Their shows are a delightful mix of humour, mystery, and awe-inspiring feats.
From humble beginnings nearly 50 years ago to the becoming the longest-running resident headline acts in Las Vegas history the dup continue to defy labels and physics by redefining the genre of magic and inventing their own niche in comedy.
Twice named “Magicians of the Year” by the Academy of Magical Arts, they offer five-decades of showmanship. The pair have sold out tours around the world, written and directed shows on Broadway and the West End, and starred in their hit TV Series Penn & Teller: Fool Us.
The dynamic duo have Emmy winning TV specials and made hundreds of appearances on everything including Fallon, Friends and The Simpsons. Their illustrious career has earned them a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This year, they were named the 2024 Masters Fellowship recipients, the highest honour the Academy of Magical Arts bestows.
“Our 50th year of magic will begin in Australia. We had such a blast performing in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane last time, we just had to start the second half of our century Down Under,” said Penn.
