Legendary Australian band TISM (This Is Serious Mum) have announced their first headline tour in 20 years – the Death To Art tour – which they’ll be bringing to the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in November.
They have more recently played shows at the Good Things festivals in 2022 and some secret warm-up gigs around Melbourne since then under different names like “Dua Lipasuction”.
TISM are famous for their anonymity since they first hit the scene back in the 1980s. Often wearing balaclavas or other disguises, their music is laced with nihilistic humour and sarcasm.
With six studio albums under their…balaclavas – they’re also famous for putting on a helluva live show.
Now they’ve got a new album, new single and video and are ready to lock in their first headline run since 2004. And they’re taking a whole bunch of other Aussie icons on the road with them.
They’ll be joined by Eskimo Joe, Ben Lee, The Mavis’s and Machine Gun Fellatio (MGF). This will be the first time MGF have reformed for 19 years, and the first time in six years for The Mavis’s.
TISM Death to Art tour dates:
Sunday 20 October – Brisbane Riverstage
Saturday 9 November – Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne
Friday 29 November – Hordern Pavilion, Sydney
Tickets are available from 9am Tuesday 13 August.
