After the roaring success of the 2022 sold-out event, the Cat Lovers Festival will make its long-awaited return to Melbourne this October at its new home of Melbourne Showgrounds.
The exciting new location and reinvigorated program will take place alongside the much-loved Dog Lovers Festival over the weekend of 26-27 October, marking the organisers’ first co-located events in Victoria.
Expanding into the Melbourne Showgrounds, the Cat Lovers Festival will educate, inspire and entertain cat parents with the latest line-up of attractions.
Festival founder, Jason Humphris, said he’s thrilled to return the event to Melbourne.
“Building on the success of our 2022 event, we couldn’t wait to arrive with our expanded program, and with our allocation of early bird tickets selling out in less than 72 hours it’s clear that Melburnians share our enthusiasm,” he said.
“Given that many Australians are proud pet parents to both cats and dogs, hosting the Cat Lovers Festival and the Dog Lovers Festival side by side provides a unique opportunity for visitors to enjoy the best of both worlds in a convenient and accessible format.
“While dogs can freely mingle in the community, you don’t always get to be up close and personal with a range of different cats! This event offers a rare chance for cat lovers to experience over 200 cats in one place. It promises to be the ultimate day out for all pet enthusiasts!”
Cat enthusiasts who also love dogs will receive FREE entry to the Dog Lovers Festival running next door (albeit in its own dedicated, cat-free venue).
Please note: visitors are unable to bring their own cats to the event for health & safety reasons, see website for full details on the policy.
