Merri-bek City Council’s Coburg Night Market is back—and bigger than ever. After drawing record-breaking crowds in 2023, this vibrant community event returns to the historic Bridges Reserve on Bell Street from Friday 13 December to Sunday 15 December.
With nearly 30,000 visitors expected, this three-day celebration promises an unforgettable mix of creativity, culture, and entertainment.
The market will feature more than 45 stalls showcasing sustainable fashion, artisan crafts, gourmet foods, and unique jewelry.
Food lovers can indulge in global cuisines from 27 food trucks, while families can dive into interactive workshops like screen printing with Troppo Print Studio and badge-making with Freeza. Kids and adults alike will enjoy storytelling and dance sessions led by Jackie Sheppard and a community choir workshop hosted by Halo Vocal Ensemble.
This year’s centerpiece is People of Merri-bek, a collaborative art project by local artist Ollie Rae, alongside the First Nations Program in partnership with the Mindful Mob Healing Market.
With two stages hosting live music, visitors can groove to acts like Propane Trio, Small FRY, and Yara. Whether you’re seeking soulful melodies, indie vibes, or Afro-disco beats, Coburg Night Market is the must-visit festive event this December.
Merri-bek City Council Mayor, Cr Helen Davidson said: “We’re thrilled to bring the much-loved Coburg Night Market back for 2024. The annual event is a highlight for so many in our community and is a fantastic way for local makers, creators and musicians to showcase their diverse skills and talents.”
“With the 2023 event attracting more than 29,000 visitors, we’re proud to be able to showcase major events like the Coburg Night Market that drive visitation and boost local businesses in our wonderful city,” she said.
Coburg Night Market is an accessible, all-ages and dog-friendly event. Dogs must be supervised and on-lead.
