Surf lovers will have even more reason to visit one of Victoria’s most iconic locations, with the state government announcing it has secured the Bells Beach Longboard Classic at the legendary break for another three years.
Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos today announced that the event will return from 17-21 September in 2025 as the second stop on the World Surf League Longboard Tour, showcasing the best longboarders from around the globe.
The event is secured to continue at Bells Beach through until 2027, with the government also supporting a Victorian wildcard entry in the men’s and women’s competitions – providing an invaluable opportunity for homegrown talent to surf their local break against the world’s best.
It adds to the annual Rip Curl Pro at Bells over Easter, which showcases the world’s best shortboard surfers and has also been secured until at least 2028.
