The Melbourne International Comedy Festival returns from 26 March to 20 April 2025, delivering a spectacular program of global talent, homegrown heroes, and special events.
As one of the largest comedy festivals in the world, this iconic celebration promises a laughter-filled journey across stand-up, improv, musical comedy, and more.
Global Comedy Powerhouses
This year’s international lineup is nothing short of stellar. Comedy royalty Ruby Wax brings her critically acclaimed show I’m Not As Well As I Thought I Was, based on her best-selling memoir, to Australia and New Zealand.
Joining her are award-winning acts from the UK, including Amy Gledhill (Make Me Look Fit On The Poster), philosophical satirist Ahir Shah, and confessional comic Sara Pascoe. Rising stars Jin Hao Li and Chloe Petts bring fresh material, while beloved names like Arj Barker, Iliza Shlesinger, and Rhys Darby add star power.
Australian Comedy Highlights
Homegrown legends, including Wil Anderson, Joel Creasey, and Zoë Coombs Marr, share the stage with emerging talent like Lizzy Hoo and Anisa Nandaula. From absurdist humor to biting satire, Australia’s diverse comedy scene will shine.
Must-See Events
Signature events return with The Gala supporting Oxfam, The Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow, and the Great Debate. Upfront will showcase female and non-binary comics, while the Asian Allstars Gala celebrates talent from across Asia. For young audiences, the Comedy Club for Kids and The (Very) Big Laugh Out promise family-friendly fun.
With more acts and events to be announced, the 39th Melbourne International Comedy Festival cements its reputation as a world-class hub for live comedy.
Whether you’re a fan of stand-up, sketch, or satire, this year’s festival promises something for everyone. Don’t miss your chance to join the laughter this autumn.
