Prepare for a villainous showdown as the Australian Sand Sculpting Championship returns to the Frankston Waterfront from 5-27 April 2025.
This year’s theme, “The Villains of Storytime,” invites Australia’s top sand sculptors to transform 300 tonnes of sand into larger-than-life depictions of iconic literary antagonists.
The event kicks off on the weekend of 5-6 April where visitors can witness sculptors racing to complete their masterpieces, culminating in the announcement of the Australian Champion and Doubles Champions.
Throughout the exhibition, attendees are encouraged to cast their votes for the People’s Choice Awards, adding an interactive element to the festivities.
Beyond the awe-inspiring sculptures, the championship offers a variety of family-friendly activities. Children can engage in sand sculpting workshops, create vibrant sand art and bottles, and explore a large sandpit designed for imaginative play.
Adults can enjoy daily speed carving demonstrations, sculptor talks, and a sand museum, all while savoring diverse culinary options from the on-site food truck park.
