Legendary Californian rock act the Stone Temple Pilots have announced they will play at The Palais Theatre in St Kilda on Sunday 2 March 2025. They had been slated to headline the Hello Sunshine Festival in Melbourne that same weekend – with organisers announcing the festival’s cancellation last week.
This means that local fans won’t have to miss out on the 30th anniversary tour of Purple – the band’s chart-topping, multi-platinum sophomore album.
To honour the impressive milestone, the Stone Temple Pilots will be performing the iconic album in its entirety at the show.
Released on 7 June 1994, Purple was the highly anticipated follow-up album to the Stone Temple Pilots’ debut album Core. It debuted at number one on the US Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and quickly became a fan favourite, selling more than six million copies.
Purple features some of the Stone Temple Pilots’ most beloved tracks, including Interstate Love Song and Vaseline.
Tickets for the Palais show will go on sale at 10am on Thursday 23 January.
