The Benalla Street Art Festival returns from 11-13 April 2025, celebrating creativity, community, and culture from 11 to 13 April.
This dynamic three-day event, a highlight of regional Victoria’s cultural calendar, will transform Benalla’s buildings and laneways into a vibrant open-air gallery of contemporary murals.
Presented by Benalla Rural City Council with support from Visit Victoria, the festival will be curated by Eddie Zammit, a veteran with over 25 years of experience in large-scale creative projects. This year’s festival will add 10 new murals to the city’s existing collection of 85 large-scale artworks, offering visitors even more to explore.
Mayor Cr Bernie Hearn said the festival continues to make high-quality art accessible to all. “Since hosting the first event in 2015, we now have one of the largest open-air art galleries, free for everyone to enjoy,” Cr Hearn said.
“The festival enhances Benalla’s aesthetic, elevates our reputation as a hub for culture and creativity, and injects moments of interest and curiosity into everyday life—as all good street art should.”
Eddie Zammit, the event curator, is passionate about celebrating local stories and diversity through art. “It’s great to be back in Benalla to lead the 2025 Street Art Festival,” Eddie said.
“I’m keen to transform spaces with innovative art installations—on walls of all shapes and sizes.”
