Legendary Australian rockers The Cruel Sea are back with a bang, announcing an eight-date national tour to celebrate the release of their seventh studio album, Straight Into the Sun. Marking their first new music in more than two decades, the album follows their 2001 release Where There’s Smoke and signals a thrilling new chapter for the iconic band.
Kicking off in Adelaide on 1 May the tour will see The Cruel Sea perform two electrifying sets at each show. The first will feature Straight Into the Sun played in full, while the second will treat fans to a selection of their greatest hits, including classics like ‘The Honeymoon Is Over’, ‘Better Get a Lawyer’ and ‘Just a Man’.
In Melbourne you can catch them at The Athenaeum Theatre on Friday 2 May 2025.
Formed in 1987, The Cruel Sea rose to fame in the ‘90s with their unique blend of rock, blues, and surf influences. Fronted by the charismatic Tex Perkins, the band became Aussie icons, winning eight ARIA Awards and topping charts with albums like Three Legged Dog and The Honeymoon Is Over.
After disbanding in 2003, they reunited in 2023 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Honeymoon Is Over, sparking the creation of their latest album.
“We’re excited to hit the road and share this new music with our fans,” said the band. “It’s been a long time coming, and we can’t wait to bring the energy and passion of our live shows to audiences across the country.”
Tickets go on pre-sale March 12, with general sale starting March 14. For full ticketing information visit facetofacetouring.com.au.
