Leading RMIT academics and students are set to feature in Victoria’s annual celebration of design, Melbourne Design Week (MDW), running from 23 May until 2 June this year. The Australian Music Vault has unveiled a new exhibit honouring Bart Willoughby, recipient of the 2024 Ted Albert Award for Outstanding Service to Australian Music. The display showcases highlights from Willoughby’s 50-year career as a pioneering singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. On view are items from his personal collection, including percussion instruments used in his work, archival photographs, lyric sheets reflecting his activism, and artwork from his debut album ‘From My Eyes’ released by No Fixed Address in 1982.
