SeaLife Melbourne aquarium’s oceanarium has now reopened, following a multi-million dollar makeover. The Oceanarium closed its doors in early 2023 for the renos – the first time it’s been emptied since it was installed 24 years ago. The reopening is the unveiling of a new permanent exhibition, Night on the Reef, which gives visitors an up close look at the world e of bioluminescence deep beneath the ocean’s surface.  The makeover involved 34 tonnes of sand, 2.2 million litres of water and 74 tonnes of premium salt to create an ocean floor landscape that resembles a coral reef.
