Rainbow communities across Victoria will be celebrated over spring and summer with more than a dozen events and activities as part of the Regional Activation Program for Victoria’s Pride. Geelong, Gippsland, Mildura, Shepparton, Wangaratta and Warrnambool are just some of the locations to host the events as part of the annual celebration of Victoria’s diverse LGBTIQ+ communities. Minister for Equality Harriet Shing announced 13 community groups, organisations and artists will receive grants to host LGBTIQ+ focused events, workshops and activities in the 2023-24 program. More than 53,000 spectacular tulips will be on display from approximately mid-September in Bendigo, the centrepiece of its annual Bloom Festival. It’s worth the day trip up the Calder to check them out along Pall Mall and in the Conservatory Garden of the beautiful gold-rush era city. Melbourne’s favourite reality TV stars, the Peregrine Falcons who call a nesting box on the rooftop at 367 Collins Street home, are back for the 2023 nesting season. Peregrine Falcons have been nesting on this building since 1991 and this is the only nesting site of the species in the entire Melbourne CBD.
